The "Superior Breathable" series glasses undergo an oxygenisation treatment which has the effect that bouquet and aromas open up within only a few minutes, which otherwise can only be achieved by decanting for 1 – 2 hours.

Opaque purple. Exotically perfumed bouquet of dark berry preserves, smoky minerals, potpourri and Indian spices, with a strong note of cracked pepper; smells like a high-end northern Rhone wine. Very spicy and tightly focused, offering juicy red and dark berry flavors and sexy notes of candied flowers and cocoa powder. Finishes with a wallop of sweet red berries and lingering, seductive spiciness; as ridiculous a value as one can find these days. The yield for this wine was reportedly under two tons per acre.

Decanting is highly recommended, as this is a “big” wine, which will greatly benefit from allowing time for the flavors to fully open up. Under the Vino-Seal closure, this wine may be safely stored standing up, and it is recommended that it stands upright for 24 hours before opening, to minimize the transfer of sediment to the decanter or glass. The depth, concentration and balanced acidity, qualify this wine as a strong candidate for cellaring

The 2005 vintage is a dark carnelian red colored cuvee, with enticing aromas of intense cassis, black cherry, licorice and integrated Tahitian vanilla. The palate unfolds with equal intensity, flooding the mouth with supple, ripe plum, boysenberry, blackberry and sweet leather flavors, followed by notes of fresh tobacco, Belgian chocolate and roasted coffee. It concludes with a long finish, dappled with hints of rich, sappy French oak.

Try this cuvee with venison tenderloin with a Hoisin glaze and stirfried Shitake mushrooms in a wasabi beurre blanc, a Porterhouse steak with twice-baked potatoes, stuffed with caramelized sweet onions and smoked bacon, or pecan, white cornbread stuffing infused with truffle oil and served with sautéed French-style green beans.

In 2005 Marquis Philips made a reserve level wine that was neither Shiraz 9 nor Shiraz Integrity, but as good as both, if not better than both, "The Grail of Lisa". A mind-blowing wine that takes MP to a new level and probably one of the top three wines they've ever made. It shows vibrant ripe blackberries, fruitcake with layers of cinnamon and toffee. Smooth vanillin palate, round luscious concentration of fruit with an oak spice finish, and a serious wow factor."96" Points.
